The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
The staff at the reception desk will assist you in making routine and emergency appointments to see a doctor or nurse, undertake repeat prescriptions, answer numerous and varied questions and offer help and assistance at all times. It is a legal requirement that confidentiality of patients' records is maintained at the highest level by all staff. The reception staff are fully supported by the reception Supervisor.
The district nurse team consists of both qualified and auxiliary nurses caring for housebound patients seven days a week and offers a full range of services, including:
Visits are usually made between 08:30 and 17:00, prioritised by client needs. Arrangements for visits outside these hours, when appropriate, would be made.

Leigh Health Centre, Leigh (Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 11:00 & between 16:00 and 16:30 is 01942 483483 to make appointments to see the district nurses for treatments.
Patients telephoning at other times between 08:00 and 17:00 may leave messages on the voicemail and the district nurses will return your call.
Patients requiring the services of the district nurses between 17:00 and 07:30 may telephone a central number at Ince on 01942 481155
Minor Surgery Sessions
These will take place periodically according to demand. Please contact the surgery for additional information.
The health visitors are qualified nurses with special training and experience in child health, health promotion and health education and are supported by a nursery nurse. They are based at Grasmere Street and can be contacted by telephone on 01942 775528
A weekly advice session (Baby Clinic) is held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month between 10:00 and 11:30 at Bridgewater Medical Centre.
Child health appointments also take place by appointment.
